Bidet related FAQ's
-
Can I still use the toilet as normal without using bidet functions?
A. Yes, the toilet can be used without utilising any of the bidet features. The toilet is still to be flushed as normal.
-
My client / I use a commode. Which bidet is the most suitable for me? Why?
A. We recommend a bidet that has a removable lid, no external water feed and has a shadow sensor rather than requiring contact with skin.
-
How are the bidets installed?
A. Retrofit bidets: existing toilet seat is removed and the bidet is bolted on top of the existing toilet pan.
-
How often does the RPZ valve need to be checked?
A.
- A RPZ valve check needs to be performed yearly
- This is another reason as to why we recommend the InteliClean
-
Where does the water for the bidet come from?
A. When the bidet is installed, a water feed is connected to the toilet’s existing feed. This water is clean and is not from the toilet bowl.
-
How does the bidet heat water?
A. When the bidet sensor is activated (by either touch or shadow sensor), the electrical pump in the bidet begins heating the water inside the system.
-
How do I clean the bidet nozzle?
A. Self-cleaning mechanism on the remote
-
Does the bidet work without power?
A. No – the bidet functions require power to work. However, the toilet can still be used as normal without power.
-
Can I use the bidet functions if I’m not sitting on the toilet? Sensors?
A. Bidets that are shadow sensored require a person sitting over the bidet to use the remote functions.
-
Can a spacer/throne rails be installed on all bidets?
A. The spacers and throne rails are compatible with our retrofit bidets. The spacers or throne rails can be installed at the same time as the bidet installation, or can be installed retrospectively at a future date.
-
Can I take the bidet with me if I move?
A.
- Retrofit models – Yes. These can be removed from the toilet and installed on another toilet as long as the new toilet’s dimensions meets the requirements of the bidet.
- Whole toilet units can only be installed in the one location.
-
Can the bariatric rails to back to wall toilets?
A.
- Short answer – yes
- Long answer – they can, however these rails are prone to sliding as they are not bolted onto backto-wall toilets. The bariatric rails would be a last resort. We instead recommend grab rails.
-
Bidet Preventative Maintenance – what does it include?
A.
- Inteliclean filter change
- Clean nozzle
- Change remote batteries
- Surface clean
- Tighten bolts
-
Does a bidet work on tank water?
